JPA Architecture designed this $90 million new human tissue research laboratory and processing facility in two phases for Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services in Dayton, Ohio. The new campus is a state-of-the-art facility with more than 30 sophisticated Class 100 Clean Rooms, lab and research space, offices, conference and meeting rooms, and public reception areas. The facility is located on the campus of a science and technology green space park in Kettering, Ohio. JPA has worked closely with the owner for the past 10 years to understand the intricate and technical processes that drive this unique operation. The building designs respond to the CBC/CTS need to maximize efficiency and create optimal space adjacencies to fulfill the ever-growing need for donated human tissue grafts and transplants.
