University of Dayton Chudd Auditorium
JPA designed a series of on-going renovations to the Science Buildings at the University of Dayton Sherman Hall and Wohlleben Hall. This project included a complete gut and remodel of the 220-seat lecture hall located in Wohlleben Hall primarily used for Science Department demonstrations and speaking events. The project involved:
• Renovating all the finishes in the space
• Creating new seating
• Improving acoustics
• Upgrading all the A/V technology
• Upgrading the existing demonstration area at the front of the room with new casework, surfaces,
• counter level electrical, gas, and plumbing fixtures suitable for chemistry demonstrations
• New white boards to replace the existing chalk boards
• Improved HVAC systems
• New lighting
Each of the spaces in Sherman and Wohlleben were sprinklered as they were restored. This project updated and modernized the University's science spaces, creating more teaching and demonstration classrooms and labs, improving efficiency and aesthetic, bringing the building up to code and meeting ADA accessibility.
